LFW: Topshop Unique

Topshop Unique's mostly black and white collection was definitely a highlight of mine at London Fashion Week. The use of sheer and matte fabric and clean cuts gave an almost urban feel, while embellished organza and fluid silhouettes allowed a subtle feminine edge to an otherwise androgynous collection. Minimalist perfection was key with understated asymmetry of diagonal panelling and zip detailing, and Bauhaus-inspired monochrome prints were injected with summer's favourite lemon hue.

NYFW S/S13: Victoria Beckham

Although I am a big Victoria Beckham fan, I was a bit skeptical when I first heard she would be turning her hands to fashion design. However, I'm pleased to say I have loved every collection she has produced over the past four years, and S/S 13 is no different. As always Beckham shows an abundance of solid colours and crisp finishes, but there is more emphasis on tailoring with high-waisted skinny trousers and a matching single breasted jacket. A favourite look of mine combined a bright orange tailored blazer with a white blouse and mini shorts - the look seems so wearble for day or evening due to the masculine buckle shoes in summer's staple colour white.

Kate Wood: Illustrated People

So my best friend Kate Wood had some incredible news this week when one of her t-shirt designs made it into Topshop's Oxford Circus store and online, for Illustrated People. Kate's is a freelance illustrator based in Surrey, and has been interning at Illustrated People in East London all summer. Can't explain how proud I am seeing her designs in the high-streets most loved shop!

Brighton Town

A month or so back Josh and I went to Brighton for the day to wander about the laines, get fish & chips on the beach and whatever else. As the weather was being good to us I opted for a pair of Topshop running shorts, worn with my Boy London vest, trusty Converse trainers and tan satchel (actually from Primark can you believe.) Accessorised by the 'peace' ear cuff I picked up from Topshop, tortoise-shell Raybans and a Casio watch. Oh and the black & white Blazers I bought Josh for his birthday.

Summer's Afternoon...

Yesterday afternoon I headed down to Farnham for a wander around the trinket stores and an overpriced coffee in Starbucks. It was a beautiful time of day as the sun was low, so Josh and I took quite a few snaps (three of which are above.) I am wearing my new mesh panel & sleeve crop top and a forest green maxi skirt with a black chain bag. The top is Topshop, skirt River Island and bag Primark. Oh and tortoise shell Ray Bans.

Mathew St Festival

I spent my birthday up in Liverpool with all my family, and for the first time attended the legendary Mathew St Festival. Having spent August bank holiday weekend in my teens at Reading Festival and then the past couple of years at Nottinghill Carnival, I have never had the chance to go to MSF before. It was good fun and we were incredibly lucky with the weather - infact, I had to cover my shoulders to stop them getting burnt (not that it takes my pale skin much to burn). We saw a load of cover bands including one, of course, of The Beatles - well you couldn't have a festival in liverpool without some sort of homage to the city's greatest band that ever lived could you?! For the occasion I chose to wear my new vintage green & white stripe denim shorts, I picked up from Beyond retro a few weeks ago. With it, I wore a peach vest from Topshop, my trusty Converse trainers and oversized Urban Outfitters denim shirt.
